SEATTLE -- (goyotes.com) Kelsey Plum scored 37 points to lead the Washington Huskies past the South Dakota women's basketball team 96-82 in Alaska Airlines Arena on Thursday night.
Plum shot 10-of-22 from the field, 5-for-9 from 3-point range and 12-for-15 from the charity stripe in the game. The Huskies (1-1) scored 54 points in the second half on 17-for-35 shooting (48.6 percent) to seal the game.
Four Coyotes (2-2) reached double-digit point totals with Nicole Seekamp's 19 leading the way. Seekamp became the 21st player in program history to score 1,000 career points when she scored her seventh point in the contest. Tia Hemiller and Kelly Stewart both had career-high scoring nights of 17 points and Raeshel Contreras added 10 points.
Forward Lisa Loeffler added a career-high 14 rebounds to the USD effort.
