VERMILLION, S.D. (goyotes.com) -- South Dakota clinched the number one seed in next weekend's Summit League Tournament and capped a perfect 14-0 record at home following a 78-75 win against Western Illinois Saturday on Senior Day inside the DakotaDome.
Seniors Nicole Seekamp and Raeshel Contreras scored 20 and 19 points, respectively, as South Dakota won its first outright Summit League regular season championship. The Coyotes will take on Fort Wayne, the No. 8 seed, at noon next Saturday in a tournament quarterfinal game in Sioux Falls. South Dakota is the defending tournament champion.

TULSA, Okla. (oruathletics.com) -- A strong finish in the first half helped the Oral Roberts University women's basketball team run past IPFW Saturday afternoon, 84-56, in the regular season finale at the Mabee Center.
The Golden Eagles finish the regular season winning five of their last seven and earning the No. 3 seed in next week's Women's Basketball Summit League Championships. ORU will face the No. 6 seed North Dakota State Sunday, March 8 at 2:30 p.m.

BROOKINGS, S.D. (gojacks.com) -- Senior guard Megan Waytashek made the most of Senior Day as she scored a game-high 21 points to lead the South Dakota State University women's basketball team to an 82-53 win over IUPUI Saturday afternoon in Summit League action in front of 1,887 fans at Frost Arena.
Waytashek, from Lino Lakes, Minn., moved into a tie for 17th all-time at State with 1,335 points. Waytashek and classmates Mariah Clarin, Megan Stuart and Rachel Walters were honored pregame.

OMAHA, Neb. (denverpioneers.com) -- Sophomore forward Jesse Spittel put in 12 points and collected a career-high 12 rebounds, but it wasn't enough for the University of Denver women's basketball team as Omaha turned in a stellar defensive performance and edged the Pioneers 53-40 on Saturday afternoon in Sapp Fieldhouse. Denver (8-22, 5-11 Summit) was held to 27 percent shooting by Omaha (10-18, 5-11 Summit).
It was a tightly contested low-scoring affair in the first half as the lead changed hands four times and the score was tied four times. After Mavericks point guard Madi Robson split a pair of free throws that gave Omaha a 20-12 advantage with 5:26 remaining in the first half, the Pioneers went on a 9-0 run to close out the first half and took a 21-20 lead into the break.
