ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota's Nicole Seekamp was named The Summit League Player of the Week for her performances Feb. 23 – March 1. The award marks the final weekly honor of the season.

Seekamp collects the Player of the Week award for the first time this season and third time in her career after leading South Dakota to its first regular season league title in program history. In Saturday's win over Western Illinois, which clinched the title and top seed in the tournament, the senior guard scored 20 points and dished out nine assists with six rebounds and four steals. She added 13 points with five assists and four steals in Thursday's win over IUPUI. For the week, Seekamp averaged 16.5 points, seven assists, four steals and 3.5 rebounds per contest with a 2.8 assist-to-turnover ratio.

In its fourth decade of Division I athletics, The Summit League features women's basketball teams from nine member institutions: Denver, Fort Wayne, IUPUI, North Dakota State, Omaha, Oral Roberts, South Dakota, South Dakota State and Western Illinois. Over the past five seasons (2010-14), The Summit League has the nation's second-highest RPI gain (+10) during that span.
