OMAHA, Neb. (denverpioneers.com) -- The University of Denver women's basketball team had to fight hard against Omaha, but the battle was successful as the Pioneers earned their first win in Omaha since 1993, 85-74.
DU moves to 12-8 and 3-2 in the Summit League, meanwhile the Mavericks fall to 8-9 and 0-5 in the Summit.
Five players for the Crimson and Gold scored in double figures, as Madison Nelson led the way with 18. Not far behind was Claire Gritt who scored 15, Briana Johnson with 14, Abi Curtin dropped in a career-high 12 and Jordyn Alt added 10.

MACOMB, Ill. (goleathernecks.com) -- Western Illinois gained its third straight win and improved to 4-1 in league play off a 91-44 victory over the visiting Fort Wayne Mastodons.
For the second time this season, Western Illinois recorded six players with double figures as Emily Clemens (14), Taylor Higginbotham (12), Michelle Farrow (11), Morgan Blumer(11), Sam Pryor (11) and Olivia Kaufmann (10).
The last time Western Illinois had six in double figures was in the Nov. 10 season opening win over Kansas City.
