DU’s Marinkovic, NDSU’s Klos earn final weekly accolades

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –Denver junior Katarina Marinkovic and North Dakota State junior Abbi Klos collected the season's final Summit League Volleyball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards, respectively, after helping each of their teams secure a spot in the Summit League Championship.

Marinkovic earned the offensive honor after averaging 4.14 kills per set and recording a .400 hitting percentage on the week. She led the Pioneers to yet another undefeated weekend in league play, hammering down 13 kills for a .440 hitting percentage in the 3-1 victory over Western Illinois and 16 kills and a .367 hitting percentage in the sweep over Purdue Fort Wayne. Marinkovic ended the week with 29 kills while adding 13 digs (1.86 digs per set) and three total blocks.

Klos claimed the defensive player of the week award after helping the Bison secure the final spot at the 2018 Summit League Volleyball Championship. In the 3-1 win over Oral Roberts, Klos recorded a career-high 38 digs, which is the second time she has reached 30-plus digs in her career. She recorded 13 digs against South Dakota. Klos finished the week with 51 digs for a 7.29 digs per set average while adding seven assists.

  • Has reached double-figure digs in 22 matches this season, 37 in her career
