North Dakota State’s Kelby Anderson Highlights Summit League Cross Country at NCAA Regionals

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – 2019 Summit League Cross Country Female Champion Kelby Anderson of North Dakota State was the top women's runner at the NCAA Cross Country Midwest Regionals, while South Dakota State, the 2019 Summit League Men's Champions, had the best team finish among Summit League runners at the Midwest Regionals in Stillwater, Okla.

Anderson finished seventh with a time of 20:43.3 and was not the only top-10 finisher among Summit League student-athletes during today's meets. South Dakota's Abby Ripperda clocked a time of 20:52.5 to earn an eighth-place finish, while South Dakota State's Anna Donnay finished tenth with a time of 20:57.1.

On the men's side, South Dakota State's Micah Mather was the top Summit League finisher to cross the line. Mather claimed 23rd-place and clocked a 10K time of 31:31.0. The Summit League men's champion, Joseph Minor-Williams, recorded a time of 31:38.9, finishing 28th.

The Jackrabbits had the top team finish among the league's men coming in fourth place at the Midwest Regional, while the Bison placed 11th among the league's women at the same regional.

North Dakota, Omaha, and Western Illinois also competed at the Midwest Regional in Stillwater, Okla. Purdue Fort Wayne ran in the Great Lakes Regional in Madison, Wis.

The NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships will take place Saturday, Nov. 23 in Terre Haute, Ind. The women's 6K will start at 10:15 a.m. CT with the men's 10K to follow at 11:15 a.m.
